Milestones that I have reached during my 4th Month

I turned 4 months old today. Daddy and mummy brought me to see Dr Ong for my 4th month assessment and also to take my second dose of 5-in-1 vaccination jab and Rotavirus oral medication. This time, mummy has decided to give me the fever medication once we reached home, as she is worried that I may developed fever, just like last month when I had my 1st jab. So far after we got home, everything is fine for me, I drink milk as normal and take my afternoon nap. However Dr Ong realised that I am having very bad sensitive skin, and wanted mummy to change my current bubble bath to "Physiogel" together with the lotion for my skin. Mummy is hoping that after the change, my skin will improve.

Here are some of the milestones that I have reached during my 4th month

* recognizes faces and voice
* able to identify close family members, like daddy, mummy, grandma
* able to hold head steady for at least 30 seconds
* visually tracks moving objects
* squeals, gurgles
* blow bubbles and drool
* develop loud giggles
* grab objects with both hands
* pull objects (such as mummy's hair)
* sleep on my own, without carrying
* response and have baby talk
* able to imitate sounds
* able to transfer objects from hand to hand
* play with toe
* push away things that he dun like
* flip sideway to more than 45 degree, but not able to flip completely

My first 4th month hair cut - 24 Aug 08

Yesterday daddy and mummy brought me for my first haircut at Curly & Spike. Mummy has chosen this place as they provide Certificate for the first haircut and also "before and after" look.

The haircut was like fighiting a battle, as I kept struggling and moving on. It was only when mummy gave me my favourite pacificer and immediately I knockout after that.

Cozy Sunday Morning

This morning, the 3 of us - me, mummy and daddy slept late as I have been a good boy. After my 7am feed, i dozed off again after mummy has given me pacifier to soother me. So the 3 of us were enjoying and lying cozy on bed. Now I enjoy sleeping with daddy and mummy every night.

It is coming to 2 months after I went back to work, and Rayden has also get used to our weekday routine. He sleeps early around 9pm, and usually by the time when we fetch him back from my mother-in-law place, he will KO during the car ride back. And next morning, we will wake him up and bring him back to my mother-in-law place again. Honestly, during weekdays, we hardly spend quality time with him, so I will always make sure that I make up to him during weekends, and it is definitely a must to bring him out, as he enjoys car ride. His night routine is also kinda of stabilized, his last feed will be at 12am, and he usually wakes up again around 5am for the next feed, and sleeps back again. So it is kinda of relief to me, that I can cope and have at least 4hrs - 5hrs of sleep.

I am also going to stop expressing breast milk, as my supply is also getting low. This could due to the lack of expressing session. I only pump once a day, during the night time, therefore my supply has dropped tremendously. Of course, if I could still preserve, I hope to continue with breastfeeding for him, as he has got very sensitive skin, and I am kinda of worried on his allergy when I am going to start introducing semi-solid to him. Luckily his milk intake is good, and also, I have received a lot of advices to start his semi-solid only at 6 months. So I am going to monitor him, before deciding.

Today has been an amazing day for him. He has broke his record, he managed to nap for 3hrs, from 5pm - 8pm after his massage session, together with me. And on top of that, he does not need me to cuddle or carry him, instead I tried out another method introduced by another mummy, Jane to give him pacifier to try, and pat him on bed instead. To my surprise, he took it well and enjoyed it, after awhile he managed to KO on his own, without the usual carry carry method.

I feel so happy, and can feel that he is growing like a big boy, and can understand the mummy's needs, this feeling is something that I know I can never get from my work's satisfaction.

Play Gym Time

This afternoon, mummy didn't bring me out as daddy needs to go to work. Therefore I am feeling bored at home. Looking at my bored face, mummy decided to bring out my play gym mat (a gift from daddy's company) for me to play. But I dun really enjoy it, as there is no music or light, only the plush toys hanging there :(

So now mummy is tempted to go back to Taka Baby Fair and get me the Rainforest Play Gym .... let's see if she is able to get the approval from daddy.

Tristan Kor Kor and Tricia Jie Jie are back from Hongkong for their summer holidays, and I am happy to have them staying at "Ah Ma" place so that they can keep me company and play with me.

Feasting time with my fist !

Since 2 weeks ago, I have started to enjoy feasting with fist, and it tastes so nice that I simply cannot stop ...... Mummy cannot stand it, and keep pushing my fist out, but still, I managed to find my way and enjoy it again :)

Look at me admiring my fist and then ....... without mummy looking at me, I quickly put it into my mouth again !

I am sick !

Yesterday daddy and mummy brought me to see Dr Ong for my 3rd month assessment and also to take my first dose of 5-in-1 vaccination jab and Rotavirus oral medication. Mummy praised me for being a brave boy as I only cried 1 loud cry after the jab, and back to my usual self after that.

When we came back, mummy decided to confine me at home and monitor my temperature as the nurse did mention that some of the babies will develop fever after the jab. In the afternoon, I didn't develop any fever, and still played and drank my milk. It was only till evening when Mummy and Daddy brought me to airport to have dinner with "ah ma" and "gu gu and family", I began to be cranky and started crying loudly. Luckily mummy has brought along the thermometer and after measuring, my temperature went up to 38.1 degree which meant that I was running a fever.

Daddy and mummy quickly brought me home, and fed me with the medicine. After taking the medicine, I managed to sleep from 10pm to 430am, and mummy had also been monitoring my temperature every 1 - 2hrs since then.

Today, I am feeling better, and my temperature has dropped back to normal, after mummy fed me with medicine and sponged me with towel. Although my temperature is back to 37.3 degree, my milk intake has dropped which worried mummy as well, but Dr Ong did ensure her that it is normal for babies to consume lesser milk intake when we are growing up.

Mummy, please dun worry for me, I am growing well and happy, except that I am not drinking as much as before.

My 3rd Month Old Present !

Mummy has bought me a Leappad little Touch system as present for my 3rd month old. But it is still going to take awhile for me to appreciate the system, but nevermind, it will be a toy for mummy to explore first, and teach me how to play in future.
